I found Madeline by searching for local florists on Instagram that I thought would match my vision for our wedding and do something a little different and unique. And let me tell you, I found so much more in Madeline and Fireweed Flower Co. than I could have ever hoped for.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The flower industry can be hugely wasteful and full of chemicals. But it doesn’t have to be! We focus on sourcing local flowers whenever we can to drastically minimize the number of miles the product travels before it gets to us—think flowers coming from 1-2 hours away via van instead of coming from 1-2 days away via airplane.

Another bonus of local flowers: they don’t come wrapped in plastic. It is standard practice for a bunch imported/shipped flowers to be wrapped a plastic sleeve. Imagine how fast the garbage can fills up when we’re using 50+ bunches of flowers in each wedding….

We also practice sustainability in the actual designs themselves. Many florists rely on a product called flower foam—this a toxic substance that is harmful to our bodies and yours, and one that never breaks down in a landfill. We have never used one single piece of floral foam, and we never will. Instead, we focus on design mechanics that are reusable, recyclable, or compostable.

Furthermore, we take the steps necessary to make sure your flowers don’t end up in a landfill. We work with two Twin Cities organizations to donate your flowers to seniors, or, at the very least, we make sure your flowers are composted so that they can be turned back nutrient-rich soil that will grow more beautiful blooms.

  • Folks typically book with us 6-12 months ahead of their wedding. Regardless of your timeline, as long as you know your date + venue it’s not too early to start chatting with us!

  • Absolutely nothing! We have all the answers, all you need to know is where and when.

  • After you reach out via our inquiry form, we have a phone consultation, and we are all excited about working together, all that’s left to secure your date is a signed contract and 50% deposit.

  • Our studio is in Northfield, MN (40 miles south of Minneapolis), and we serve the Twin Cities metro area and beyond. We also serve venues in the Brainerd Lakes area.

If you’re getting married in Minnesota, we’d love to chat flowers!

  • Yes! We charge one fee that covers delivery + setup of flowers to your ceremony and reception sites. This ensures your venue looks picture perfect, and you don’t have to lift a finger.

We also offer strike, which is when we come back at the end of your event and take everything with us that we dropped off and set up earlier that day.

  • The short answer: each wedding is different!

We create unique designs for each couple based on their style and preferences. If two couples come to us with an $8000 budget, their wedding flowers could look very different from one another!

Use the wedding pricing guide, above, to get a loose idea of what a wedding at a certain price point might look like.

  • Yes, we do. Our current minimum spend is $3000, and couples typically spend $5000-8000 with us.

  • We work with tons of wedding vendors every year, and we would love to recommend some of our favorite planners/coordinators, photographers, etc! Send us an email (click here) and we’ll share a list.
